En considérant Rencontre et dialogue comme un acquis dans la Société, les capitulants ont été invités à se poser cette question essentielle : Que faire concrètement, quelle devrait être la contribution spécifique de ce chapitre ?

Nous pouvons donner quelques réponses en attendant le rapport du comité de rédaction. Les nouveautés avancées sont, d'après nous, la sensibilité au dialogue avec les RTA et les Nouveaux Mouvements Religieux. Favoriser le dialogue à l'intérieur de la Société sur ces questions : à partir de notre vie concrète, là où nous sommes, relisons notre foi à l'aide de la théologie de la religion : réconciliation entre théorie et pratique. Populariser le travail du Pisai. Apporter une réponse aux appels de l'Église locale dans le domaine de la Rencontre. Nous sentons le besoin d'une plus grande connaissance, formation, dans le domaine de la Rencontre. Il nous faut arriver à traduire la Rencontre dans notre vie quotidienne. Nous sommes invités à nous laisser évangéliser dans toute rencontre avec l'autre, quelle que soit sa croyance.

Bref, un consensus frappant se dégage dans tout ce qui a été dit dans les groupes de discussion. Mais vous devrez attendre, tout comme nous, le rapport du comité de rédaction pour en connaître la teneur.

Demain, Justice et Paix et Intégrité de la Création seront à l'ordre du jour.

En soirée, les capitulants ont eu droit à la projection d'un film sur la Rencontre et le dialogue interreligieux tourné au Nigeria.

CHAPTER 2010: TUESDAY 18th MAY

In considering Encounter and Dialogue as gains acquired in the Society, the Capitulants were invited to ask this fundamental question: What is there to do in practice, what should be the specific contribution of this Chapter?

We are able to give some replies while waiting for the report of the Editorial Committee. In our view, the new features advanced are sensitivity to dialogue with ATR and New Religious Movements. Promoting dialogue within the Society on these issues is possible. On the basis of our daily lives, wherever we may be, let us reinterpret our faith with the help of the theology of religions: reconciling theory and practice. We could popularise the work of PISAI, bring a response to the appeals of local Church in the area of Encounter. We feel the need for a greater knowledge and training in the area of Encounter. We need to allow Encounter to percolate into our daily lives. We are invited to allow ourselves to be evangelised in any encounter with others, whatever their beliefs may be.

In short, a striking consensus arose in all that was said in the discussion groups. However, you must wait, as we all must, for the report of the Editorial Committee to know the content.

Tomorrow, Justice and Peace and the Integrity of Creation will be on the agenda.
