Mercredi 2 Juin Chapitre (Fête Nationale de la République Italienne)

Ce matin, les capitulants ont fait un vote consultatif pour élire les futurs Assistants généraux. Mais ce n'est que demain après-midi et vendredi après-midi qu'auront lieu les élections. Le rythme de ces élections, proposé par le comité de coordination, a été accepté au cours d'un vote par la majorité des capitulants. Deux Assistants seront élus demain et deux autres vendredi. Les scrutins se suivront dans une même séance jusqu'à ce qu'un assistant soit élu. Il y aura ensuite une pause et le même processus recommencera pour un second assistant. Si tout semble bloqué, le président du Chapitre ou un capitulant pourra proposer une pause.

Après le vote consultatif, les membres des différents groupes se sont retrouvés pour échanger sur les structures de la Société.

Bonne Fête aux Italiens et spécialement à nos confreres Giovanni et Michele présents.

Dans l'après-midi, tous les membres de l'assemblée ont pu échanger autour des méga Provinces que leurs provinciaux ont présentées à tour de rôle avec leurs réalisations et problèmes. Voici quelques questions discutées :

André (Europe) et Théo (PAO) présentant les défis et les réussites de leurs grandes provinces

* Ne pourrait-on pas nommer le Provincial comme animateur du secteur où il loge ?
* Les secteurs ne doivent pas nécessairement être identiques. On doit d'abord voir au bien des confrères et ne pas oublier qu'une des principales responsabilités du Délégué de secteur est d'apporter ou d'entretenir le souffle missionnaire parmi ses confrères.
* Faut-il parler " d'en dehors de son pays d'origine " ou " d'en dehors de sa Province d'origine " quand un confrère reçoit sa première nomination ?
* Toutes les Provinces sont égales en tout et il ne faut pas chercher absolument un Provincial originaire de la Province, mais plutôt quelqu'un qui vit dans cette Province et que les confrères désirent voir à ce poste.

En soirée, les membres de la SAP se sont réunis entre eux dans le jardin pour un repas. D'autres l'ont fait avant eux et d'autres le feront après eux.

CHAPTER 2010 Wednesday 2nd June (National Feastday of the Italian Republic)

This morning, the Capitulants took a consultative vote to elect the future Assistants General. However, the elections will only take place tomorrow afternoon and Friday afternoon. The pattern of these elections proposed by the Steering Committee was agreed by a majority vote of the Capitulants. Two Assistants will be elected tomorrow and two others on Friday. Ballots will be consecutive in the same session until an Assistant is elected. There will then be a break and the same procedure will recommence for a second Assistant. If everything appears blocked, the Chapter Chairman or a Capitulant can propose a pause.

After the consultative vote, the members of the different groups met to discuss the structures of the Society.

We congratulate all Italians on their Feastday and particularly our two confreres Giovanni and Michele.

In the afternoon, all the members of the Assembly we able to discuss issues surrounding the mega-Provinces presented by their Provincials in turn, with their achievements and their problems. Here are some of the matters discussed:

* Could we not appoint the Provincial as the animator of the Sector in which he resides?
* The Sectors should not necessarily be identical. We must first see to the well-being of the confreres and not forget that one of the main responsibilities of the Sector Delegate is to bring or maintain the missionary drive among his confreres.
* Do we need to mention 'from outside his home country' or 'from outside his home Province' when a confrere receives his first appointment?
* All the Provinces are equal in every way and we do not need to seek at all costs to have a Provincial originally from the Province, but rather someone who lives in this Province and that confreres desire to see in this position.

In the evening, the members of SAP gathered among themselves on the lawn for a meal. Others did so before them and others will do so after them.
