En matinée, les capitulants ont discutés le contenu de feuilles roses qui symbolisent une première ébauche d'un texte.

Mais comme la fin du Chapitre approche, il a fallu trouver une méthode plus rapide d'étudier ces textes en rose. Les capitulants ont donc été envoyés en groupes pour faire les corrections et critiques nécessaires et sont revenus en fin de matinée pour partager à toute l'assemblée ce qu'ils avaient trouvé.
Les thèmes étudiés et critiqués en matinée sont : l'introduction générale au service des confrères et des communautés, la gestion de nos ressources humaines (personnel policy), le ministère aux confrères ayant des difficultés ou dépendances, la gestion du personnel, nominations et planification.
En début d'après-midi, Richard Baawobr nous a invités à remplir un formulaire d'évaluation du Chapitre à remettre dans deux jours. Certains confrères ont déjà reçu une ovation bien méritée quand Richard a mentionné le secrétariat et la traduction comme points à évaluer. Des capitulants ont déjà confirmé leur billet de retour, alors que d'autres doivent changer leur billet parce qu'ils ne retournent pas !

Les capitulants sont ensuite revenus aux feuilles bleues pour une seconde lecture de textes du Chapitre. Les textes étudiés portaient sur les finances (quand on parle argent, c'est toujours un peu compliqué d'entrer dans les détails), sur l'avenir de la Maison généralice (nous gardons toujours la Maison généralice), sur la formation initiale.
La journée s'est terminée par la célébration de l'Eucharistie.

Demain, la plupart des capitulants iront à l'audience du pape pour accompagner les membres de l'ancien et du nouveau Conseil général.

CHAPTER 2010 Tuesday 8th June
In the morning, the Capitulants discussed the content of the pink pages that signify an initial draft of a text. However, since the end of the Chapter is in view, a quicker method had to be found to read through these pink texts. The Capitulants therefore were sent into groups to make the corrections and critique necessary and returned at the end of the morning to share with the whole Assembly what they had found.
The topics examined and of which a critique was made in the morning were: General Introduction to the service of confreres and communities; the management of our human resources (personnel policy); the ministry to confreres in difficulty or with dependencies, personnel management, appointments and planning.
At the beginning of the afternoon, Richard Baawobr invited us to fill in a Chapter assessment form to be returned in two days. Some confreres have even now received a well-deserved ovation when Richard mentioned the secretariat and the translation as points to assess. Some Capitulants have already confirmed their return tickets, whereas others will have to change their tickets, as they are not going back!
The Capitulants then returned to the blue pages for a second reading of the Chapter texts. The texts examined dealt with finances, (when money is spoken of, it is always a bit complicated to enter into detail); on the future of the Generalate, (we keep the Generalate), and on Initial Formation.
The working day ended with the celebration of the Eucharist.
Tomorrow, most of the Capitulants will attend the Papal Audience to accompany the members of the outgoing and incoming General Council.
