AFRIQUE/RD CONGO - Les 50 ans de la RDC: les évêques organisent un triduum : « comprendre le passé et le présent pour projeter le futur »

Kinshasa (Agence Fides) – Une célébration à l’enseigne de trois regards croisés: rétrospectif, introspectif et prospectif. Tel est le choix de la Conférence épiscopale du Congo (CENCO) à l’occasion des 50 ans d’indépendance de la République Démocratique du Congo (30 juin 1960).

« Notre pays s’apprête à célébrer le jubilé d’or. Célébrer un tel jubilé signifie trois choses: se demander d’où nous venons, où nous sommes et où nous allons » affirme une note de la CENCO qui présente le « Colloque national », dédié aux 50 ans d’indépendance, qui se tiendra du 9 au 12 juin à l’Université catholique du Congo de Kinshasa. Les trois jours de travaux sont consacrés respectivement aux rétrospectives, aux questions actuelles, et aux perspectives.

En expliquant le sens de l’initiative, la note des évêques rappelle qu’« il faut, avant tout, rendre grâce à Dieu pour les bienfaits reçus, et mettre à la lumière les réalisation des 50 ans d’indépendance, mais aussi effectuer, sans tergiverser, un diagnostique de chaque déviation, négligence et erreur ayant miné le bien du pays ». Le tout « pour définir de nouveaux comportements à adopter et pour développer des projets de société pour un avenir meilleur pour tous ».

« C’est dans cette perspective que la CENCO organise le colloque du cinquantenaire pour reconstruire peu à peu le tissu social si gravement endommagé. De cette manière, l’Eglise catholique, fidèle à sa mission spécifique qui est d’annoncer à tous les hommes et femmes la Bonne Nouvelle du salut en Jésus-Christ, continuera à apporter sa contribution particulière à cette noble mission accomplie pour le bien-être intégral du peuple congolais » conclut la note. AFRICA/CONGO DR - 50 years of DRC: Bishops organize conference “to understand the past and the present, in order to plan for the future”

Kinshasa (Agenzia Fides) – A celebration with 3 perspectives: retrospective, introspective, and prospective. This is what the Congolese Bishops' Conference (CENC) is planning for the 50th anniversary of independence being celebrated in the Democratic Republic of Congo (June 30, 1960).

"Our country is preparing to celebrate its golden jubilee. Celebrating such an anniversary implies three things: the question of where we come from, where we are, and where we're going," says a note from the CENCO, which is organizing the "National Dialogue" dedicated to 50 years of independence, to be held June 9 to 12 at the Catholic University of Congo in Kinshasa.

The three-day conference will be dedicated to retrospectives, current topics, and future prospects.
In explaining the reason for the initiative, the Bishops' note said that "it is necessary, first of all to thank God for blessings received and highlight the achievements of 50 years of independence, but also make, without prevarication, a diagnosis of any deviation, neglect, and error that has undermined the good of the country. All this comes in order to “define what new actions should be adopted and to develop projects in society for a better future for all.”

"It is therefore in this perspective that the CENCO is organizing the colloquium for the 50th anniversary, to gradually rebuild the social fabric that has been so badly damaged. In this way, the Catholic Church, faithful to her specific mission of proclaiming the Good News of salvation in Jesus Christ to all men and women, will continue to make its special contribution to this noble task for the overall well-being of the Congolese people," the statement concludes.
