European JPIC-ED coordinators Meeting
Cologne, 13-14 December 2011

A little seed that will bear much fruit

For two full working days, a group of twenty Missionaries of Africa and one MSOLA, met together at Cologne to share about our commitments in the areas of JPIC and ED in view of planning for the future involvements. The first day was consecrated on JPIC while the second one was on ED. A documentary film from Nigeria, "The Imam & the Pastor" (recommended for Christian-Muslim dialogue animation) and a diaporama show on "Slavery" helped us in our prayers and reflections. For each area of apostolate, proposals for concrete actions were made to be approved by the Provincial Council.

Confronted with the reality of our confreres in the European province and the amplitude and complexity of many JPIC-ED issues, both in Europe and Africa, the temptation is great to throw in the towel! However, at the end of our encounter, we were still convinced that in spite of our powerlessness, the little we can do, if we do it wholeheartedly and with faith that the One who calls us to this mission will not leave us alone, will probably be 'A little seed that will bear much fruit'!

Rencontre JPIC-ED des coordinateurs en Europe
Cologne, 13-14 Décembre 2011

Pendant deux jours de travail intense, vingt missionnaires d'Afrique et une Sœur de Notre-Dame d'Afrique se sont rencontrés à Cologne pour partager leurs actions en faveur de Justice et Paix, Intégrité de la Création (JPIC) et Rencontre et Dialogue (RD), en vue de leurs prochains engagements. Le premier jour fut consacré au thème " Justice et Justice et Paix, Intégrité de la Création " et le second, " Rencontre et Dialogue ". Un documentaire du Nigeria, " L'Imam et le Pasteur " (recommandé par Christian-Muslim dialogue animation) et un diaporama sur " l'esclavage " nous ont guidés dans nos prières et dans nos réflexions. Pour chaque champ d'apostolat, des propositions d'actions concrètes ont été approuvées par le Conseil provincial.

Confrontés à la réalité de nos confrères de la Province Europe et à la complexité des questions au sujet de JPIC-RD, à la fois en Europe et en Afrique, la tentation est grande de jeter l'éponge. Cependant, à la fin de notre rencontre, nous étions tout de même convaincus que malgré notre impuissance, le peu que nous pouvons faire, si nous le faisons avec cœur et en croyant que Celui qui nous appelle à cette mission ne nous laissera pas seuls, que ce petit rien sera probablement " la petite graine qui portera beaucoup de fruits "
