The
History Research Project of the Misionaries of Africa
(White Fathers) was lauched in 2001 in order to supply a deficiency in the
historical study of the Society and to make better use of the Society's
General Archives. Since then, three books and a number of articles have
been published by the members or the team. The group is led by Jean-Claude
Ceillier M.Afr.
Aylward Shorter is a member of the Missionaries of Africa and their history research team. He holds degrees in history and social anthropology from Oxford University and is the author of many books and articles in the fields of social anthropology, mission theology and African history. He is a leader in the efforts to understand inculturation and he lives in London, England.
